Over the past few years I have gone silent. This was for a number of reasons that are mostly only important to me. Several things happened while I was gone; the most important for M&W Books was the loss of our entire mailing list.
The company we used deleted dormant accounts. At the time I was moving from one country to another and did not discover the purge of accounts until a month after it occurred. It was entirely my fault for not sending more updates to the newsletter during COVID, but this was still a difficult blow to process.
Since then I have been trying to rebuild the newsletter and mailing list, but since everything in the account was purged I had a tough time of it. Of course I also changed my day job and moved another few thousand miles away. Nothing big, just uprooting my life twice in a handful of years. At least the frequent flyer miles were good.
All this is to say that things have been chaotic since COVID interrupted the world. I am, only now, recovering.
No, I did not get COVID. Yes, I know many who did.
No, I did not become more productive. If anything, I ground to a complete stop.
I am hoping to end that stoppage.

Additionally, M&W Books will be starting a Discord soon as well as a new social media presence on Vero and Bluesky.
I am also pulling away from Instagram unless Meta divests itself from the platform. Although I enjoy Instagram, Meta’s values are not our values and I am not willing to support a company that does not rise to hold itself to a higher standard in troubled times.
