Ilona Lesko and her evolved canine partner Jabari have decided to leave the Earth. Ilona’s life as a Guardian was filled with violence and sorrow, now she and Jabari hope to create a calm, academic life for themselves studying exobiology. Unfortunately, the archaeological expedition they joined has attracted some unwanted attention from the Conclave. Can Ilona avoid fighting and still save her new friends? Friends who are less than happy that their new exobiologist is a barely human Guardian, known to leave a wake filled with blood and death?
